Mini beach trip with the Fitchs!

We took a quick weekend trip to Gulfport, MS with Lis, Scott, and the kids. We wanted to go to the Lynn Meadows Discovery Center, which is an excellent Children’s Museum, and the beach was an added bonus. I was skeptical, because I am kind of a snob for Destin-area sands and water, but I was pleasantly surprised by the fun shallow water and sandbars can bring (even if the water is brown). Anyway, here are some pictures!

P.S. I am a terrible blogger, especially because Vera has been growing and developing like crazy, and I haven’t been writing it down (something I know I am going to regret in the years to come, but we’ve had a such a fun and busy summer of playing, that I let it get away from me)! Just know that she is S M A R T and verbal. She speaks in full sentences (and has for a while). She can hold a conversation and has a great memory. She uses adult-sounding inflections when she speaks which is precious. Her favorite color is green, and she always asks me to put green outfits on her (even though she only has a few). She can lift both feet off the ground when jumping (all credit for that goes to the Little Gym). She loves playing with baby dolls (especially pretending to change diapers, bathe, and put the babies to bed). Ok, that’s it for the mini-update! Enjoy the pics!!

The kids’ “stairs” in the middle of the museum. This was basically just a climbing structure that reminded me of jellyfish. Vera loved it!

The pretend airplane was by far Vera’s favorite part.

The plane took us to Mexico, where Vera and Wes ate at the cantina:
